Saturday, May 3, 2014 7:30 PM

The Tams perform legendary Beach Music that helped proclaim the Shag as the Official Dance of the Carolinas.  Since the 1960s The Tams hits have landed them on US and UK R & B billboards’ top ratings with favorites like Untie Me, What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am, Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy, I’ve Been Hurt, Hey Girl Don’t Bother Me.  The 1989 film Shag revived their fame with the hit There Ain’t Nothing Like Shaggin’.  In 1999 The Tams joined Jimmy Buffett on the Beach House on the Moon CD that led to a US tour with Buffett.  Walkin’ Dr. Bill, with G.C. Cameron, earned the group the 2000 Cammy Award.  With thirteen albums-two platinum, four gold-, the Beach Music of the Decade award in 1986, induction into the Beach Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1994, The Tams continue to be a favorite beach music and R & B headliner all over the country.  The Tams have brought children and grandchildren on board to preserve the original sound. And yes, they took their name from the famous hats they have worn since the beginning.
