Christmas in New York

Friday, December 13, 2013 7:30 PM

Franc D’Ambrosio is best known as the “World’s Longest Running Phantom” for his leading role in Phantom of the Opera.  He was chosen by Francis Ford Coppola to play Anthony Corleone, opera singing son of Al Pacino, in Godfather Part III. His performance so impressed the late Luciano Pavarotti, the legendary tenor invited Franc to study in his home in Italy.  His long run in Phantom caught the eye of Barry Manilow, who personally selected Franc to star as the lead male star Tony in the pre-Broadway tour of Copacabana for which he was nominated by the National Theatre Award for Best Male Performer in a Musical.  D’Ambrosio has joined the ranks of Michael Crawford and Sara Brightman as a crossover solo artist with major orchestras and symphonies across America, Europe and South America.  He has created four touring one-man shows including Broadway- Songs of the Great White Way, Hollywood-Songs of The Silver Screen, World War II-I’ll Be Seenin’ Youz, and Holiday- Christmas in New York.  Frank continues to wow audiences with his vibrant voice and his tales of growing up in a Bronx family’s bakery.   His passion for teaching leads him to Italy each summer lecturing for the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of music in Spoletto and the Cherubini Music Conservatory in Florence.  He is also guest lecturer for the New Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, Julliard School NYC and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.  Christmas in New York joyously celebrates the magic of the holiday season with the holiday standards from the American Songbook.  Created in 2011, the concert sells out venues throughout the United States.
