Almost Heaven: Songs of John Denver

The Off-Broadway production,
Almost Heaven, is based on the autobiography of American folk
singer/songwriter/actor/activist, John Denver. The six-member cast
doesˇ not try to copy Denver's style, but rather delves into the
message of each song Denver wrote. The first act is retrospective of
Denver's early more folk-oriented period. The second act takes us
into the soul of the man who perished as he piloted his plane when
it crashed in 1997. The six piece band and simple wood-stained sets
with the flowing Colorado River remind us of Denver's beloved Rocky
Mountains. Sunshine On My Shoulders, Annie's Song, Rocky Mountain
High, Grandma's Feather Bed, Take Me Home Country Roads, Thank God
I'm A Country Boy, and many more Denver tunes will send us to the
point of Almost Heaven. An outstanding, full-length musical
